About the Chapter

The Colonel David Hall Chapter NSDAR meets on the second Saturday of each month in January, March, April, May, September, October, and November. Once the business portion of the meeting is completed, we hear from a guest speaker on topics of interest.

In February, we hold our annual social, where members are encouraged to bring a guest to enjoy conversation and a meal with fellow Daughters. Each May, we organize a wreath-laying ceremony that has become a Lewes tradition. Members, guests, elected officials and representatives from the Children of the American Revolution and the Sons of the American Revolution participate in the emotionally moving ceremony.

We open our Maull House for docent-led tours in conjunction with two town-wide events: the Tulip Festival in the spring and the Holiday House Tour in December. Members dress in colonial costumes and conduct tours of the house. We emphasize the contributions of the past occupants of the house during the Revolutionary War and to Delaware. Those raised in the Maull House epitomize the traditions of Delaware Bay and River pilots dating back to the 1700s and notable civil service to Delaware.

In July, we serve as docents at one of the houses on the Rehoboth Art League Cottage tour, supporting their fundraising for arts education outreach.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our meeting schedule or meetings in general.
